Q+A

What do you do with your rage?

I listen to it, learn from it, and act on it! My rage has inspired much of my activism and my art practice. It is a driver of change and a force for social justice. It is also a crucial component of the healing process. Rage is powerful and empowering!

Favorite quote?

“Your Silence Will Not Protect You” and a favorite book by Audre Lorde

What is the world missing?

More truly diverse and intersectional spaces/communities that allow us to learn about one another and develop empathy, understanding, and connection.

Where do you go for inspiration?

I always turn to Seriously Badass Women! Women artists, activists, educators, thinkers, yogis, therapists, healers, mothers, daughters, sisters, survivors, and more!

How long do you think you would you survive the zombie apocalypse? Why?

For a good long while. I am a survivor. I am also a strategic thinker, a planner, and a fighter. Many years as a single mama have taught me a lot about survival and prepared me for just about anything. All that, along with my obsession with apocalyptic books and movies like Parable of a Sower, The Road, and Zombieland, have armed me with endless survival strategies. I got this!
